Leena joined the Practice in June 2021 and is working from our Bury Cost Centre.
Leena is proficient in the treatment and management of:
Head Injury · Stroke · MS · Parkinson’s Disease · Guillain-Barre · Minimally conscious & low awareness patients · Spinal Cord Injuries · Ventilated Patients · Cerebral Palsy
Leena has worked with individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions including, stroke, acquired brain injury and head injury, MS, Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy and post-operative brain tumours. Leena also has experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities within the NHS. This role allowed Leena to deepen her skills working with learning disabilities and complex behavioural management.
Leena has a special interest in aquatic physiotherapy (hydrotherapy). She has treated a wide range of conditions in the pool, and believes that the hydrotherapy pool environment is ideal for rehabilitation for many conditions.
Leena is a firm believer that a holistic approach to rehabilitation not only provides better clinical outcomes, but also motivates the clients to help themselves achieve the best possible quality of life. Leena believes that movement is medicine and wants to ensure physical activity is present as a day to day normality for clients no matter of their ability. She believes this helps individuals work towards their functional goals and ultimately feel more empowered.
Alongside engaging in recent and relevant CPD to ensure appropriate evidenced based practice, Leena develops her professional skill base through regular participation in supervision and internal training.
Outside of physiotherapy, Leena enjoys playing netball, skiing, horse riding and going for long walks with her dog.
