The Team assist with MNDA Factsheet

Recently, the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) sought the advise of the team in production of their Factsheets. Our Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams have assisted in compiling their Fact Sheet No 21: Physiotherapy for people with MND.

The MNDA recognised Heather Taylor‘s expertise in hydrotherapy, and Heather was quoted to say “Utilising the buoyancy of the human body in water, the participant can be handled easily by the Physiotherapist. Away from the pull of gravity the individual can achieve a feeling of weightlessness and freedom not accessible on dry land. As a result they may be able to move weak or painful limbs that are too difficult on dry land.

Heather has also written an article for the MNDA publication Thumb Print and we excitedly await its publication.
