A map of the UK coast to coast route to be covered virtually during the month of September in our virtual coast2coast challenge.

Step Up with SP Therapy Services: Join Our 2025 Virtual Coast2Coast Challenge!

Get your trainers on and your step counters ready – SP Therapy Services is thrilled to bring back our Virtual Coast2Coast Challenge 2025 this September!

Last year, our amazing network of clients, colleagues, and supporters walked, wheeled, swam, and stretched their way across England — all in support of our local Headway groups. This year, we’re back and we’d love you to join us for the Virtual Coast2Coast Challenge 2025.

Whether you’re a returning participant or stepping in for the first time, every move counts.

What Is the Coast2Coast Virtual Challenge 2025?

Throughout September, our team and supporters will collectively travel the Coast to Coast route. That’s 192 miles (over 440,000 steps!) across the country.

But here’s the twist: we’re doing it virtually.

You can join by walking, wheeling, dancing, gardening, swimming, cycling – any movement of your choice. We will convert your activity into steps and add them to our collective total.

It’s a fun, flexible, and inclusive way to move more — and raise vital funds for Headway.

Why Are We Doing the Coast2Coast Virtual Challenge?

The Coast2Coast Virtual Challenge 2025 is more than a fitness goal. It’s about:

  • Motivating recovery – Our patients and Headway group members use this challenge to set personal goals, try new activities, and celebrate progress.
  • Raising awareness – Brain injury can change lives in an instant. This challenge shines a light on the hard work that goes into rebuilding independence.
  • Supporting local Headway groups – Every penny raised is split equally between our local Headway charities – Headway Salford, Headway Stockport, Headway Huddersfield, and Headway Rotherham. All of whom provide essential services for individuals living with brain injury.

Who’s Involved in the Coast2Coast Virtual Challenge 2025?

As always, our brilliant SP Therapy Services team is taking the lead — supported by patients, families, support workers, and friends from across the region. We’re proud to work alongside our local Headway groups, all of whom bring their own energy and enthusiasm to the challenge.

Each week in September, we’ll focus on a different area of our route — highlighting the people and stories that make this challenge so special. Keep an eye out for updates featuring our amazing physiotherapists, patients, Headway participants, and community supporters like yourself.

"Susan Patterson at SP Therapy has supported Headway Salford for many years, and her dedication to the brain injury community is truly something special. She consistently goes above and beyond to make a difference for people living with brain injuries and the families supporting them.

Susan is the founder of the North West Brain Injury Forum, which has brought professionals and organisations together to improve support, understanding, and collaboration across the region. Her passion for raising awareness and improving services for those affected by brain injury shines through in everything she does.

Her commitment and hard work have rightly been recognised, including receiving the Headway Salford “Above and Beyond” Award. It’s a well-deserved honour for someone who gives so much of her time, knowledge, and compassion to others.

Susan is a true advocate for the brain injury community and a valued supporter of Headway Salford. People like Susan make a real difference, and the impact of her work continues to be felt by so many."

"SP Therapy Services have been a fantastic support to Headway Rotherham. Their visits to our group have made a real difference, especially through their engaging and accessible chair-based exercise sessions, which our members really enjoy and benefit from.

They are not only professional and knowledgeable, but also genuinely warm and encouraging, helping everyone feel comfortable and included. We are particularly grateful for their ongoing support in raising funds for our charity, which shows their commitment goes far beyond their sessions.

We highly value our partnership with SP Therapy Services and look forward to continuing to work together."
