Our client Paul Medcalfe suffered from a stroke in June 2014, whilst out jogging . After his stroke,Paul’s rehabilitation goals were focused on fitness, being able to travel and getting back to work.He has worked with Susan Pattison Therapy Services’ multidisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists and has participated in the Physiotherapy led Hydrotherapy Programme and the Continuation Programme at Bolton Neuro Voices.

Previously, Paul had competed in triathlons and now he is back training again for the Triathlon Sprint in Kendal on 27th September,as his first post-stroke event, in aid of Bolton Neuro Voices and The Stroke Association.Training has begun at Rossendale Triathlon Club, as well as continued hydrotherapy and support from Susan Pattison Therapy Services. The event involves a 400m swim, 18 Km bike ride, and a 5 Km run.

Paul says“In 12 months I have come so far.I had lost the ability to do any of the three sports and it is with the help of many professionals and support groups such as Bolton Neuro Voices and family and friends that I am able to commit to this challenge – Thank you.”

Paul is trying to raise as much as possible for both the Stroke Association and Bolton Neuro Voices, so that the support that these organisations have given Paul can be available to help others. https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MeddersTri
