Meet The Team
Susan Pattison
Bury and Greater Manchester
LANCASHIRE & GREATER MANCHESTER BASED
I am a highly experienced neurological physiotherapist with a passion for the rehabilitation of patients living with neurological conditions including stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and cerebral palsy but with a special focus on head injury. The depth and breadth of my experience in adult head injury is from intensive care to community rehabilitation.
It was my awareness of the lack of community services that lead me to set up private practice in 1998 to meet this need. I describe myself as a people magpie and have evolved a team of talented therapists who share my passion and enthusiasm.
I am an enthusiastic supporter of UKABIF and in 2019 was awarded the Chair’s Certificate of Merit.
SP Therapy Services will celebrate its 28th year in 2026, and I am proud of our reputation for clinical excellence.
I strive to actively support my clinical team to be the best they possibly can and to share their clinical expertise by presenting posters at relevant conferences.

Robert Butterworth

LANCASHIRE BASED
I’m a dedicated Neurological Physiotherapist with a passion for empowering patients with the skills to achieve maximum independence and function. I prioritise helping my clients to make informed decisions about their rehabilitation and applying these principles to goals across the functional range, fostering self-reliance and confidence.
With a proven track record, I have helped patients build their exercise tolerance to achieve milestones such as sitting in and driving a powerchair for the first time or participating fully in a football group.
I work with a diverse range of patients in various settings, including their homes, gyms, and schools. This community-focused approach ensures patients can optimise their function in environments that matter most to them.
I have had notable success in building therapeutic relationships and trust with patients who have previously disengaged from therapy. By building strong relationships and trust, I lay the foundation for integrating other members of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that even the most reluctant patients receive the comprehensive support they need.
In addition, I specialise in developing the skills of support workers through one-to-one training within treatment sessions and group teaching sessions to discuss the theory and practice of an effective exercise programme. This includes detailed guidance on handling techniques to reduce muscle tone and increase joint mobility.
Believing strongly in a team-based approach to physiotherapy and rehabilitation, I ensure that every team member understands the underlying principles of each programme, paving the way for optimal progress for my patients.

Lucie Myers
Bolton, Lancashire and Greater Manchester
LANCASHIRE AND GREATER MANCHESTER BASED
I’m a home‑visit specialist physiotherapist with a focus on neurological rehabilitation, supporting clients across Bolton, Bury, Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas — and I’m always happy to travel further where needed.
I have first‑hand experience of living with and supporting a close family member following a spinal cord injury, which has given me a deep understanding of the physical, social and psychological impacts neurological conditions and injuries can have on individuals and their families. This personal insight strongly shapes my approach to care.
I joined SP Therapy Services after completing my Physiotherapy degree at the University of Greater Manchester, achieving First Class Honours. While studying, I volunteered with SP Therapy Services, supporting the delivery of hydrotherapy sessions for people with neurological conditions in Bolton. The knowledge and experience I gained during this time inspired me to become part of the team.
I have 10 years’ experience working within the NHS and am passionate about empowering people to achieve their goals, maximise their independence and improve their quality of life through personalised, home‑based rehabilitation. I value building strong therapeutic relationships, as trust and engagement are key to achieving meaningful and lasting outcomes.
Clients choose to work with me because I am enthusiastic and compassionate, with a strong commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. I bring first‑hand insight into how neurological conditions can affect all aspects of a person’s life and am adaptable, with a strong foundation in collaborative multidisciplinary working. I take great pride in supporting independence through personalised, evidence‑based home‑visit therapy.
