Heather Preston, affectionately known as Mrs P, is leaving SP Therapy Services later this month. Heather joined us in 2008 when Susan was looking for an OT to meet the specific needs of a patient. She initially joined on a sessional basis to support this one patient, however her case load grew and soon she became a regular member of the SP Therapy Services Team. In 2012, Heather became our Clinical Coordinator, responsible for clinical standards across the practice and the development of our OT team. Without her input and support we would not have had an OT team at SP Therapy Services. Heather was also well known face at the North West Acquired Brain Injury Network (NWABI) which she coordinated. She instigated the development of the Achiever Awards, the volunteer post and the fundraising at the NWABI meeting by selling tables for Headway. Heather also organised an OTea Party each year inviting colleagues from the independent sector to celebrate their profession with tea and cake!
Heather was never one to seek the limelight, instead always choosing a supportive role to enable others to shine and thrive. But now as we say goodbye it is time to recognise her achievements and celebrate her long career and contribution SP Therapy Services, to the OT profession and wider Brain Injury community.
In these strange times it is difficult to throw a party to show our appreciation, although she probably would not have thanked us for that! So we are planning a virtual tea party. The date for your diary is Wednesday 25th November 4.30pm to 6pm. If you would like to join us at some point for 5 minutes to say goodbye or stay for longer and reminisce with Heather you would be very welcome.
To join us please email email@example.com requesting info to join the video call!
If you are unable to join us and would like to send Heather a message we will collate them into a virtual card, if you would prefer to send something by post please send it to Heather Preston, SP Therapy Services, c/o 9 Gisburn Drive, Lowercroft Bury, BL8 3DH and we will ensure it gets to her.
